Adoption Services and Education

Child prayingChildren

Every child needs a "forever family". They need to become a permanent member of a "family tree". There are almost 400 children ranging in age from 2 to 17 in Arkansas that are available for adoption. These children need a family in which to belong, a family to call their own, a family who will teach them, provide for them, and love them.

Sometimes children come into our care who are already available for adoption.  Sometimes the parents of children in our care, involuntarily have their parental rights terminated due to their lack of cooperation and/or ability to complete the tasks required of them in order to have their children returned to their care.

Searcy Children’s Homes assists in locating adoptive families for these children by recruiting and referring families to DHS to be approved as adoptive families.  We also are involved with the White County Adoption Coalition to assist in recruiting adoptive families for children who are waiting.

Families

There are Christian couples who are grieving as they struggle with infertility. There are also those who are older and don’t feel like they could parent a baby, yet they still want to be parents and to have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.  There are some who have already parented their children, and have the desire to add to their family.  We provide home studies for active, faithful Christians in Arkansas who want to create or add to their families through adoption.
