Involvement and Investment
Searcy Children's Homes is involved and invested in the lives of the children that we serve. The children are provided with opportunities to learn, to grow, and have their needs met:
Spiritually - through their involvement in worship and church activities, family prayer and devotional times, individual prayer times to pray for their families or for a family to adopt them, etc.
Physically - by being provided well-balanced meals and snacks, time for exercise and physical activities, adequate rest, modest and clean clothes to wear, comfortable and nicely decorated rooms to call their own, etc.
Intellectually - through their involvement with tutors from Harding University, being provided with age-appropriate books and educational games, communication with their teachers to address any learning needs, involvement of their houseparents/foster parents with homework, etc.
Emotionally - by living in a safe and loving family where they learn what it means to live in a family, being involved in healthy family relationships as well as relationships with friends, by having the opportunity to talk with therapists/counselors to address past issues, by maintaining relationships with their own birth families, if it is in their best interest, etc.
Socially - by being encouraged to participate in sports, music lessons, community activities, by learning the importance of having healthy boundaries, appropriate behavior and good manners, etc.
